along the Ohio River in Washington County. The district covers 156 square

to every student.
In 1968 Frontier School District was
formed from the consolidation of four school districts, Newport, Lawrence,
Bloomfield, and Matamoras. Cougars became the new athletic mascot name
became and the new school colors became Columbia Blue and Vegas Gold.
Frontier School District earned a state report card rating of “Effective”
for the 2009-2010 school and Frontier High Middle School earned a Bronze
Medal rating in 2009 from U.S. News and World Report.
